Wonderful World of Wood
An exciting new exhibition showcasing the work of eight very different Pembrokeshire craft workers, all using the medium of wood opens on the 3rd of October at the Narberth Gallery.
The wood, mainly locally sourced and sustainable comes from a range of
different trees. For instance one of Dominic Bagnal’s pieces, which is 5.5ft
high, a chair with a difference is made from sycamore, oak, leylandii and willow.
The wide variety of objects on show includes the beautiful carved oak
Arabian horses of Neil Machin, one of which is just under 3 foot tall, the
elegant individually designed birch ply furnishings of
Steve Thompson and the delicately worked screens of Penlan Interiors.
Also featured are the natural and coloured turned hollow forms and bowls of Jo and Leigh Rihan, the local driftwood mirrors and trees of Sharon Karpaty alongside the large forms of Campbell McConnell which show the natural fissures and elements of the material together with the unique hand crafted furniture of Dominic Bagnal of Rustic Revolution.
The exhibition runs from 3 October – 8 November
Gallery open from 11.am till 5pm Tuesday to Saturday
